A hammertoe is  bending of the toe at the first joint that causes the toe to appear like an upside-down V when viewed from the side. Any toe can be involved, however, most commonly the second through the fifth toes are affected.  Non-surgical treatment options include Padding, Anti-inflammatory Medications, and Changing shoes. If these options do not alleviate symptoms, surgical correction can be considered.
